Stavo leggendo su Domenica, l'inserto del Sole 24 Ore, la recensione di Vertical, l'ultimo libro di Reinhold Messner dove ricostruisce "100 anni di arrampicata su roccia", dalle origini ottocentesche fino a Alex Huber, giudicato da Messner "il miglior arrampicatore del mondo".
Alex Huber č il maestro del free-solo, cioč dell'arrampicarsi slegato e da solo. In Alp Wall di ago/set, Alex Huber racconta come ha vissuto, un anno fa, la ripetizione in free-solo della direttissima “Hasse Brandler” sulla nord della Cima grande di Lavaredo, con le immagini inedite del grande fotografo Heinz Zack.
Fu scalata la prima volta nel 1958 in cinque giorni con duecento chiodi, Alex Huber l'ha ripetuta in quattro ore in free-solo, portandosi solo un casco e un sacchetto di magnesite. Casco assolutamente inutile, dato che non usava corde nč aveva un compagno. E cadere da lě significa finire a molti metri dalla base della parete, tale č lo strapiombo.
